Raiford C. CockfieldVice President, Market Development, Americas - IBM Corporation Raiford C. Cockfield is vice president of market development based in White Plains, N.Y. In this capacity, he leads an organization responsible for developing IBM's strategy for and marketing to businesses owned or operated by Women, Blacks, Native Americans, Asians, Hispanics, the 50+ population segment, Gays/ Lesbians, and People with Disabilities. He is an executive with extensive management expertise in sales, finance, and marketing in the information technology industry. Mr. Cockfield's previous IBM positions include director of special business offerings and director of marketing practices, with responsibility for establishing prices and terms and conditions for all IBM products and services sold in the North America. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, the Council of Better Business Bureaus Board and the CCNY School of Engineering Advisory Board. In addition, he served on the Westport-Weston United Way Board and past chair of the American Society on Aging Marketing and Product Development Council and the Regional Committee for Quality Education and Diversity. He was selected as a "Black Achiever in Industry" by the Harlem YMCA. A native of Sumter, S.C., Mr. Cockfield holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Howard University and reached the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force. He was named an "Outstanding Junior Officer" during his Air Force assignment. |
