Lenny Springs Director of Supplier Diversity

CHARLOTTE, NC /diversitybusiness.com/ Wachovia Corporation has named Lenny Springs Director of Supplier Diversity. Springs will be responsible for leading the corporation's supplier diversity initiatives by creating and providing growth opportunities for minority and women business entrepreneurs as Wachovia suppliers.

"Our company has a strong commitment to diversity and the establishment of an effective supplier diversity program," said Ken Thompson, President and CEO of Wachovia Corporation. "We know firsthand the value and importance of programs focused on supplier diversity, and today's announcement reaffirms that commitment."

Springs joined Wachovia Corporation in 1983 and most recently served as senior vice president of strategic partnerships in the Community Development Group. He specializes in promoting public awareness and instituting progress programs for community advancement and community reinvestment. Springs has designed, developed and implemented numerous programs for small and minority businesses as well as education advancement programs. Springs is also active in the community; he has served on the national board of directors for NAACP and was the founding president of 100 Black Men of Charlotte.
