"General Motors
Minority Dealers Association
Celebrating 20 Years of
Serving Minority Dealers"
|
The General Motors Minority Dealers Association is a 501(c) (6) membership organization that represents more than one-half of the General Motors minority-owned dealerships in the United States.
Over the past 20 years, the GMMDA has served the GM minority dealer community by promoting and protecting the profitability of all existing General Motors minority dealers and has worked together with General Motors to install new minority dealers in viable opportunities.
Our dealers are committed to a high standard of customer service and are dedicated to satisfying its customers in every way possible. In 2006, the GM minority dealers sold over 245,000 new vehicles, representing over $12.4 billion sales.
One of the more celebrated activities of the year is the annual GMMDA Scholarship and Awards Banquet. The proceeds from the banquet, together with contributions from
GMMDA vendor partners, are used to provide scholarships to minority high school seniors and college students. Since 1987, the
GMMDA and its members have provided over one million dollars in scholarships to assist minority students in achieving their educational goals.
Join us to celebrate 20 years of serving the GM minority dealer community and 18 years of "making educational dreams come true" at the annual
GMMDA Scholarship & Awards Banquet that will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV.
Troy Clarke, President of General Motors North America will serve as our keynote speaker. |

America's Top Government
Agencies for Multicultural
Business Opportunities
Declared
|
United States Postal Service were today declared as the “Top Government Agency for Multicultural Business Opportunities of 2006”. Over 500,000 diversity business owners had the opportunity to participate in an online election to determine the “Top” agencies. The honor extends to another nineteen agency’s and is collectively called the Div50.
As minorities gain more buying power and their lifestyles become more affluent, multicultural markets are growing in economic muscle. This in turn attracts more corporations, as they compete for market share in minority communities. The Div20 list has become, by virtue of association, a consumer guide of sorts for women and minority consumers. “As a diversity business owner, I appreciate the business we receive from corporate and government buyers; and in turn, when I buy products and services, either as a company or as a private individual, I am much more likely to buy from the same companies that are supporting my business, or that I know are supporting businesses like mine,” said Peter Clarke, owner of Advanced Cleaning Concepts headquartered in Bridgeport, CT.
