Pitney Bowes strategically cultivates, supports and collaborates with multi-ethnic- and women-owned businesses. Outreach vehicles include women- and multi-ethnic-owned business advocacy within each business unit, strategic partnerships with various trade and business organizations, media and advertising, website communication, and procurement of traditional and non-traditional mission critical products and services including information technology, investment banking, consulting, and staffing for special projects.

The company has also launched web-based initiatives to promote supplier diversity including this supplier diversity website, an affiliate site of Div2000.com, an e-procurement portal enabling multi-ethnic- and women-owned businesses to register their capabilities on-line with Pitney Bowes, and sponsorship of blackvoices.com, a premier website for African Americans containing news, entertainment and business information.

Some of the many national and regional multi-ethnic- and women-owned business trade shows at which Pitney Bowes has a major presence are: Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC), Div2000.com Annual Multicultural Business Conference, National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Texas Association of Mexican-American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC), Latin Business Association (LBA) and Connecticut Minority Supplier Development Council (CMSDC).

Our most recent media initiative, 2001 Latina Guide to Small Business, co-produced with Hispanic Magazine, is a comprehensive, bilingual reference tool for aspiring Latina entrepreneurs. Pitney Bowes has been featured in such influential publications as Hispanic Magazine, Hispanic Business Latina Style, and Forbes, on the on-line diversity portal, Div2000.com, and on the on-line diversity news portal, DiversityInc.com.
