July 12, 2005

Emmett Vaughn to head diversity program; veteran of Albertsons, RR Donnelley comes to energy company

Chicago — July 12, 2005 — Energy company Exelon Corporation has named Emmett T. Vaughn to be its supplier diversity manager, with oversight over the company's supplier diversity program.

In his new position, Vaughn reports to Delia W. Stroud, vice president for supply business operations and governance with Exelon. Vaughn replaces George Peters, who recently retired.

Prior to joining Exelon, Vaughn, 48, was the principal of Eminent Connections Ltd. Consulting. From 2002 to 2004 he was director of business diversity for Albertsons Inc., after working at RR Donnelley Inc. from 1996 to 2002, where he served first as manager of supplier development and diversity, and then as director for diverse business markets.

At the request of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., RR Donnelley loaned Vaughn as an executive to the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, where he served as chief operating officer and business relations manager.

"We are thrilled to have Emmett, with his extensive experience and demonstrated success, leading Exelon's supplier diversity program," said Stroud. "He brings a wealth of strategic planning expertise and diversity sourcing knowledge that will help Exelon meet its supplier diversity goals."

Exelon said its diversity business enablement program seeks to maximize opportunities for minority and woman-owned business enterprises (MWBEs) to do business with the company. The program includes company-wide procurement expenditure goals, a supplier diversity council, community outreach, third-party certification, mandatory tier-two diversity spend and sponsorship of external programs for diversity suppliers.

Vaughn serves on the board of the Lutheran Family Mission Care Organization, the House of Blues Foundation Scholarship Board, and the board of Athletes Against Drugs; and he is a member of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

Exelon is one of the nation's largest electric utilities, with approximately 5.2 million customers and more than $14 billion in annual revenues. The company is headquartered in Chicago.
