At Mars, we believe that the inclusion of diverse suppliers in our sourcing strategies provide us with diverse business solutions, competitive pricing benefits, diverse products and services resulting in improved comparative business advantage and an opportunity to deliver value to our customers and consumers.

We strive to ensure that our commercial leaders have a broad understanding of the business case for engaging diverse suppliers and the competitive advantage that a robust Supplier Diversity process brings to our organization.

To this end, we are committed to building business relationships with these enterprises by creating opportunities and optimum business environment for the integration of and inclusion of diverse suppliers into Mars supply chain process.

To accomplish these business objectives, Commercial leaders are to:

  • Actively seek out qualified diverse suppliers capable of providing competitive and high quality products and services
  • Work with Mars non diverse prime suppliers to support Mars Second Tier Initiative
  • Support development of competiveness of diverse suppliers through mentoring and other outreach activities

Mars Chocolate North America Supplier Diversity Program was developed with this in mind. The relationships we seek with these diverse suppliers must be grounded in Mars five principles. Details regarding this program can be obtained from Itu Otu, Supplier Diversity Manager.
