Premier Healthcare Alliance Launches Enhanced Supplier Diversity Program to Support Growth of Diverse and Small Business Enterprises
|
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct 02, 2008/ -- DiversityBusiness.com /- The Premier healthcare alliance announced enhancements to its supplier diversity program, aimed at increasing the number of small, diverse and regional enterprises doing business with members of the Premier alliance.
The SEEDS -- Sourcing Education and Enrichment for Diverse and Small Suppliers --program is designed to ensure participants enter the group purchasing contracting process ready to succeed. SEEDS will provide resources to minority-, women- and veteran-owned suppliers and small businesses through various business tools in order to enhance their contractual experience with Premier members. Likewise, the program introduces additional diverse and small business supplier options to Premier members.
"Through our focus on strategic sourcing, Premier understands the challenges all suppliers face in the contracting process," said Premier Senior Director of Supplier Diversity Deborah A. Williams. "By participating in SEEDS, diverse and small business suppliers will receive coaching and mentoring; assistance in how to work with the member hospitals and distributors to achieve local, regional and national distribution capabilities; and business educational tools that focus on marketing and communication materials.
"Premier has established a broad definition of diversity that encourages our members to support minority-, women- and veteran-owned enterprises and small business suppliers through Premier agreements," said Premier Purchasing Partners President Mike Alkire. "Through this initiative, diverse and small business suppliers will be able to grow incrementally within the Premier contract portfolio, leading to the establishment of long-term relationships across the Premier healthcare alliance."
