Fortune 500 Corporation Pitney Bowes Executive Keith R. Wyche Receives His First NAACP Image Award Nomination for Outstanding Literary Work.

Dallas, TX - January 15, 2009 / -- DiversityBusiness.com /- The nominations are in for the annual awards show, which recognizes the artistic achievements of people of color and honors projects and individuals that promote diversity.
New-comer, Keith R. Wyche, is in good company with his book "Good Is Not Enough and Other Unwritten Rules for Minority Professionals" (Portfolio/Centennial) and is up against Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson with “32 Ways To Be A Champion in Business”, G. Garvin’s “Dining In”, Kevin Powell’s new book “The Black Male Handbook: A Blueprint for Life” and Iyanla Vanzant for “Tapping the Power Within: A Path To Self-Empowerment For Women” for the Outstanding Literary Work-Instructional.
“As a contender in this category with heavy-hitters like Earvin Johnson and Iyanla Vanzant is a great honor. I’m very excited to be a part of the 40th Annual Image Awards and the historic 100 year celebration for the NAACP,” stated Wyche, Pitney Bowes, U.S. Operations President and author.
Wyche, along with co-author, Sonia Alleyne (Black Enterprise Magazine) is one of the few African American executives to write a book offering advice to young professionals. As President of U.S. Operations for the Fortune 500 Pitney Bowes and other major corporations, Wyche has been able to use his experiences in and out of the boardroom and those experiences of some of the thousands of minorities he has counseled on how to overcome the (often hidden) obstacles to getting ahead in their careers detailed in his book.
This year, over 1,200 entries were received from which only 265 nominees were selected. A committee of 300 industry professionals and NAACP from across the country selected five nominees in each of 53 categories.
The final selections are voted on by NAACP members, and winners and will be announced on February 12th during the live airing of the 40th NAACP Image Awards on Fox at 8pm PST.
