Novation’s Lamont Robinson Honored with the 2010 Corris Boyd Leadership and Diversity Award from Federation of American Hospitals
Irving, TX / March 01, 2011 / -- Novation, the leading healthcare supply contracting company, announced today that Lamont Robinson, senior director of Supplier Diversity received the Corris Boyd Leadership and Diversity Award at the Federation of American Hospitals' annual Board of Governors meeting this week in Washington, D.C. The award recognizes an individual or company that has made an outstanding contribution in fostering leadership and workplace diversity in the health care industry.

Through Robinson’s leadership, Novation, added an additional 25 agreements with diverse suppliers for a total of nearly 100 diverse suppliers on contract in 2010. The members of VHA Inc., University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) and Provista, LLC are projected to spend more than $340 million in 2010 with diverse suppliers, a 6 percent increase over 2009.

He has worked tirelessly to cultivate a program that has earned national recognition and been the catalyst for our advancement in building lasting relationships with minority suppliers,” said Jody Hatcher, president and CEO of Novation. “We congratulate Lamont on this outstanding recognition and thank him for his leadership.” Robinson’s dedication to supplier diversity was also recognized when Novation’s program was named to the MBN USA magazine"Corporate 101" list as a top corporation for supplier diversity, and he was named as one of the top overall 100 supplier diversity professionals over the past decade.

Additionally in 2010, Novation’s Supplier Diversity Advisory Group hosted its first Supplier Diversity Business Fair this past November. More than 74 participants representing 49 diverse supply companies and 50 VHA, Novation and Provista employees attended. The speakers included a successful Novation contracted diverse supplier, Dr. Randal Pinkett, winner The Apprentice: Season 4, company executives and other Novation employees.

The award was created by the Federation to honor the late Corris Boyd. Boyd, who died in December 2005, committed his life to diversity and excellence in health care. He believed that leadership development is crucial to success and was devoted to the success of minority- and women-owned business enterprises.
