Johnson Will Highlight his "Business Solutions to Socio-Economic Problems"

Bethesda, MD February 01, 2012/- Robert L. Johnson, founder and chairman of The RLJ Companies, and founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET), will discuss minority unemployment rates, limited access to capital for minority businesses, and the accelerating wealth gap in the minority community during a National Press Club Newsmakers press event tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the National Press Building..

Johnson will discuss what he calls “business solutions to social problems” and discuss how corporations can enhance their existing diversity and inclusion practices by urging CEOs to adopt a voluntary version of the National Football League’s Rooney Rule to level the playing field for minorities in corporate America. The NFL's Rooney Rule gives fair interviews to minority candidates whenever a head-coaching or general manager position becomes available prior to making a hiring decision.

Johnson will also announce the launch of his new business designed to assist corporate America with identify minority talent for employment opportunities and minority businesses for vendor/supplier opportunities.
